Darlene Love on Letterman 2-Nite: Must See TV!

Yessss! The night I wait for every Christmas season. Darlene Love singing the song she owns. CHRISTMAS: BABY PLEASE COME HOME. With the exception of last year, when the writer’s strike was going on, Darlene has appeared on Letterman’s Christmas show every year since 1986 to perform her masterpiece. Last year, thankfully, CBS showed a re-run of her 2006 performance. Folks, it don’t get no better than this. Just in case you are a pathetic little girly-man who has to turn in early this time of year, as a public service, here’s a link to Darlene rockin’ it in 2004. Fix yourself an adult beverage, kick back and relax. No, really. You’re welcome. It’s nothing at all. Merry Christmas!

  1. Great minds think alike. Already have it set to record on my DVR. I wouldnt miss Darlene for anything. I always stay up to watch her. She is amazing. So here is wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. And Thank You again for all the years of reading pleasure you have given me!

  2. Oh, my goodness. When you left a comment on my blog today, I didn’t realize you were THE Mary Kay Andrews. I read Deep Dish and thought it was so much fun! I was surprised when I popped over here to your blog tonight and saw you had written it. 🙂

Enjoyed reading your post about Christmas movies. “White Christmas” is probably my all-time favorite, too. I know every word (and song) by heart! -Julia

  3. I enjoyed seeing your blog and hearing Ms. Love sing on the Letterman show then I also saw her on a rerun of Regis and Kelly where she appeared a year or so ago and sang the same song.

I love your books and blogs very much.
