Lawd! The novels of Frances Parkinson Keyes. Loved reading her Louisiana-set ones as a teen. Whole set of these at today’s estate sale. Googled her today and learned she was married to a U.S. Sen. from New Hampshire, and because he disapproved of her writing, she wrote in secret and hid her manuscripts in her underwear drawer .
