This toy wooden farmhouse is a fave find from a Savannah estate sale. I love gazing at it while I’m snugged up writing on the sun room sofa–and 4-year-old Griff enjoys playing with it too! October 19, 2015October 19, 2015 Instagram filter used: Gingham View in Instagram ⇒
It wasn’t pretty, but the Dawgs managed to get a win. October 18, 2015October 18, 2015 Instagram filter used: Clarendon View in Instagram ⇒
This adorable brother- sister act found me on Scaly Mtn. Yesterday. Their owners abandoned them and they found their way straight up a mountain, three miles from where they were left. They are in Atlanta with me temporarily while I look for a home for them. They went to vet today, got 1st de-worming treatment and flea treatment. Approx 6-8 weeks old and sooo sweet. Interested? DM me. Free books to their new family. Pokey, the black and white is a boy, Riley is the sister. October 16, 2015October 16, 2015 Instagram filter used: Clarendon View in Instagram ⇒
If Monet was still alive, and he was hanging out in the NC mountains, he would never look at a water lily again. Just sayin’… October 15, 2015October 15, 2015 Instagram filter used: Clarendon View in Instagram ⇒
The limelights are turning the most glorious shade of dusky pink, I couldn’t resist “liberating” some and posing them in a nearby birdbath. #skyhighcottage #scalymountain #autumn #hydrangeas October 15, 2015October 15, 2015 Instagram filter used: Clarendon View in Instagram ⇒

For a book-signing party for my friend Jonathon Barrett’s new Southern cookbook/memoir the food was mostly from his recipes. We wanted a fun down-home look so we layered my collection of vintage plaid wool stadium blankets on top of this great burlap tablecloth from @ballarddesigns. The flower container is an antique lemonade dispenser from my designer pal @clanier73–who also put this table together. The candlesticks are the sawn-off legs from our porch coffee table. All the flowers either came from Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, or my backyard. Platters, plates and bowls from my vintage stash. And that’s my #burlapandbonfires look. #ballarddesigns #claysniderinteriors #hoarderissues October 14, 2015October 14, 2015 Instagram filter used: Rise View in Instagram ⇒
Actual apples growing in an apple tree! As a native Floridian, I grew up picking (or filching) oranges, tangerines and lemons. We would snag avocados from the towering tree in a neighbor’s yard, cut them open and sprinkle with juice from another neighbor’s lime tree, them eat them out of our grubby little hands. But apples! Apples still seem exotic to me after all these years. October 13, 2015October 13, 2015 Instagram filter used: Clarendon View in Instagram ⇒
Just in case you were wondering about the proper name for these pumpkins. #osagefarmersmarket October 12, 2015October 12, 2015 Instagram filter used: Normal View in Instagram ⇒
