THE FIXER UPPER Launch Party

The calm before the storm

As my grandmother would say, “A good time was had by all!” We had THE FIXER UPPER launch party tonight at Feast restaurant in Decatur, and it was so much fun. We even raised a little money for breast cancer research. Launching a new book is a lot like birthing a baby–minus the stretch marks. So it helps to have wonderful friends, family and fans surrounding you when you send your baby book out into the world. Thanks to all who came, and those who wanted to come–but couldn’t. Here are the plugs: Eat at Feast–on East Howard in beautiful downtown Decatur, Ga. Fantastic food, great folks, I swear, you’ll love it. Buy desserts at Sweet n’ Sinful Bakery in Avondale Estates, GA. Two words: caramel cake. Seriously. Get your fixer upper supplies at Intown Ace Hardware in Decatur. Buy books at The Book Exchange in Marietta. Owner Cathy Blanco always throws a great party. And she’s funny. If you missed tonight’s party, I’ll be back there on July 18, and Cathy has plenty of signed copies of THE FIXER UPPER if you need one before then. Now, don’t forget, y’all. Get out there and buy THE FIXER UPPER! I’ll be blogging from the road, so check back early and often.

  1. I would go out and buy it tomorrow, if I hadn't already preordered it from Barnes and Noble. I've been looking forward to this book for months!

  2. Just saw you on Eddie's Blog. I can't wait to meet him in DC in September for the Big DC Flea Market.

I've read a couple of your books – they combine two of my favourite things – mysteries and old things!

  3. My daughter Pam and my 2 nephews David and Brian had a wonderful time last night at the book launch. It was so nice to finally meet you. I love all of your books

  4. I'm so excited now to read your book! I have a gift card for Barnes & Noble – think I may make a stop tomorrow!

  5. I may have to travel to Tybee on the 3rd to catch you….not coming to birmingham on this leg of signings????

  6. I just finished The Fixer Upper and loved it just as much as your others! But I noticed an error in the last chapter on page 415. "I guess Jackson Hodder or Camerin Allgood will be along…" His name is Jackson Harrell not Hodder.
Just thought I'd point that out. Anyway, I loved the book. Don't make us wait so long for the next one!

  7. Oh, how I'd love to come up to Tybee Island for a visit! Makes me want to pack a bag right now!

I posted my review of The Fixer Upper on my blog today and I wanted to invite you to read it. (I have to apologize for the whacky spacing Blogger thru in that I can't seem to get out). Anyway, my readers are all anxious to get your book! Good Luck and thank you for a great story!!

You can find my review here!

  8. Finished the book today and thoroughly enjoyed it!! I have a question, though. Did Ella Kate fall as the doctor said or did she just get hurt when the tree fell on the car? I think that section is a bit confusing.

By the way, I LOVED the final sentences!! Too funny!

  9. I just finished the Fixer Upper and loved it. Please tell me you are working on a 2nd installment!
I have to know if they…opps don't want to spoil it for anyone.

  10. I just finished The Fixer Upper and am really hoping that the story will continue into another book. I loved the story!
